Good morning. How’s your coffee? It’s been a full week since we last touched base. Not only is it as hot as ever, but we are fully embedded in the dog days of June. What will Summer 2022 have in store? You can read my highly exaggerated local trend forecast to ponder this question. However, if you’re not the conspiratorial type and are more interested in taking things week by week, you’re in the right place. Here are 10 things happening across town this weekend (and some stuff happening a little bit after).

SoundCream Airstream continues its weekly Summer Block Party series at Pearl Park this Thursday, June 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. This family event allows you to grab cold drinks and grab-and-go food from the Pearl’s food hall, The Bottling Department, while enjoying a live DJ set. This week, DJ Manolo Black will perform.

If you can’t get enough of Puerto Rican heartthrob and chart-topping king of reggaeton Bad Bunny, then you’re going to want to drag the girls to Paper Tiger’s “Bad Bunny Party.” Show off your moves on the dance floor while drinking Moscow Mules this Friday starting at 9 p.m. This is an 18 and up event.

Suenos de la Botanica is popping up for one night only in celebration of the group’s 7th anniversary. There will be performances by Wayne Holtz, drag kings and queens, and burlesque performers.

From 2015 through 2020, La Botanica was the destination for drag nights, vegan food, and the queer community. This Pride month, they are popping up for one night only in celebration of the group’s 7th anniversary. There will be performances by Wayne Holtz, drag kings and queens, and burlesque performers. Guests can enjoy Chef Rebel Mariposa’s signature vegan eats and browse local artisan Very That’s “mini mercado.” Festivities will last from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. All ages are welcome.

The 1st Pride River Parade
In celebration of Pride Month, San Antonio is adding a new event to the standard lineup. Head downtown to experience the first LGBTQ+ Pride river parade. From noon to 5 p.m., festivities will take place at La Villita, with local artisans, vendors, and food. The first run of the river parade will pass through the Downtown Reach to close out the festival from 4 to 5 p.m. An encore presentation will occur from 7 to 8 p.m., this time it will snake around River Walk’s Museum Reach.

Free Family Bubble Day
This family and pet friendly event aims to bring bubbly, sensory fun to the Deco District during the SA Local Market. There will bubble wands, free bubble arts and crafts, bubble making, plus, shopping from BarbacoApparel, Viva Chabela and more. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Marielia’s Bussin’ Lemonade and Just Sue’s Kitchen. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
