12 excellent San Antonio restaurants open on Thanksgiving – mySA

If you’re looking to skip the mess in your kitchen this year, and enjoy a nice day or evening out of the house, there are plenty of places in and around San Antonio to make a quick reservation for Turkey Day (or to grab something else if you’re over the fall fare).

One local restaurant, Earl Abel’s, made Big 7’s 2019 list of the 50 best spots for Thanksgiving dinner In America. Keep reading to learn more, and see 11 other favorite places to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner in the Alamo City.

Earl Abel’s Restaurant 

Reserve your table for your Thanksgiving feast at Earl Abel’s between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. This year’s menu includes classics like roast turkey with stuffing, corn bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole. Other options available include fried chicken, creamy chicken, and vegetable soup, along with a wine selection and variety of cocktails and mocktails. Call 210-444-9424 for reservations.

Scuzzi’s will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations can be booked online and the restaurant said in a Facebook post for large parties to call 210- 493-8884 to reserve a table.

Frederick’s Bistro

Frederick’s Bistro is taking reservations for lunch and dinner on Thanksgiving from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., offering traditional holiday fare and season dishes. You can also pre-order a to-go meal to take home if you don’t want to dine-in. Both locations are open. Make reservations at 210-888-1500.

Spice Fine Indian Cuisine

Spice Fine Indian Cuisine is open from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The restaurant prepares everything fresh with “the best quality ingredients and the freshest vegetables.” Spice Fine offers lunch buffet, dinner, and takeout. Orders can be placed online.

Morton’s Steakhouse 

Morton’s will offer both its normal menu and a Thanksgiving meal option that includes a winter green salad with oven-roasted turkey roulade, sage and cranberry relish, turkey gravy, smoked gouda au gratin potatoes, baked corn souffle, green beans almondine, and pumpkin cheesecake with sea salt caramel. Sylver Spoon Dinner Theater

Sit down at Sylver Spoon for a five-course dinner with a spin on Thanksgiving classics and wine pairings. Cost is $59 per person and wine pairings can be added for an additional $25. Kids meals are also available for $6.50. Tickets can be purchased online

The first course is creamed cornbread fritters with a habanero aioli paired with The Other Woman Chardonnay; second course is sweet potato soup with toasted marshmallow, cinnamon spice and paired with the Disruption Syrah Rosé; third course is goat cheese stuffed quail with cranberry sauce paired with the Bouchard Beaujolais Gamay; fourth course is roasted pork loin with espresso, apple, and green bean “casserole,” paired with the Zinphomaniac Old Vine Red Zinfandel; and the fifth and final course is dessert featuring Auntie Madi’s chocolate pecan pie with caramel ice cream, paired with the Folly of the Beast Pinot Noir.
