The holiday season is here, San Antonio! This means there are plenty of family traditions and Christmas light displays to enjoy throughout the city.

From drive-thru displays to magical grounds with activities for the whole family, here’s where to to find some of the best holiday lights in the Alamo City this season.

What is the San Antonio holiday lights experience without Windcrest? Make a point to visit Windcrest throughout December to take in all the elaborate displays throughout the neighborhood, which will fit a “Fiesta de Navidad” theme this year.

If you let the kids stretch their legs, the whole family will be able to enjoy the Park-N-Play Winter Wonderland, which features a Gingerbread Escape Room, holiday crafts, photos with Santa, and the chance to make your own light show. The Light Park

Instead of the North Pole, you can head out to Selma for some holiday magic. The Light Park is a pet-friendly drive-thru light show that includes millions of lights with festive music. You can even enjoy food, drinks, and more fun while you wait or after you experience the magic. This attraction is open daily through January 1, 2023.

Holiday Lights on the River Walk

A favorite for locals each year, this year’s holiday lights along the River Walk will be lit and free to visit from November 25 to January 9, 2023. It’s a must-visit given the display features more than 100,000 lights draped across the scenery’s towering cypress trees. This 4-mile stretch of the River Walk also hosts special events such as the annual Ford Holiday River Parade, Ford Fiesta de las Luminarias, and Ford Holiday Boat Caroling.

Light the Way at the University of the Incarnate Word

The University of the Incarnate Word is inviting San Antonians to partake in its lights display at its 36th annual Light the Way Holiday Festival, allowing guests to enjoy the display through the holiday season. Even the Alamo will be getting into the holiday spirit this year. From November 25 to January 2, the iconic landmark will have lights throughout its grounds and feature installations spotlighting Alamo defenders like Davy Crockett and Juan Seguin. Over on the Far Westside, you can take in more than 300,000 lights alongside synchronized Christmas music.
