In addition to dining at the veteran-owned restaurants in San Antonio, local military personnel have plenty of places to pay a visit this week. A number of eateries are offering free and discounted meals on Friday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day, while others are offering promos to take advantage of later. Veterans and active duty service members can enjoy deals at these spots.
Active, former and retired military can snag a free dozen of tamales and a 32 oz. drink or coffee for free from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Military ID, veterans affairs card or discharge papers may be presented as proof. Limit one per customer for dine-in only.

54th Street Grill & Bar
Veterans and active duty military members can take advantage of a $10 off discount when dining at one of San Antonio’s 54th Street Grill & Bar locations on Friday. Proof of military service is appreciated by the restaurant. Pro tip: military service members, health care workers, and first responders can receive a discount year-round. Be sure to ask your server about the details.

Fogo de Chão is offering big discounts in honor of Veterans Day.

Luckily for vets, Texas Roadhouse will hand out dinner vouchers on Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Veterans then have until the end of May 2023 to use the voucher, good for an entree and two sides and a beverage.

The city’s zoo is really giving back to veterans. Through the month of November, the San Antonio Zoo is giving active duty, retired, and veteran members of all military branches and the National Guard free admission. Four guests can also get half-off admission. Once Zoo Lights opens on November 19, military members can also enjoy free admission to the holiday attraction.
