UPDATE: 5:50 p.m., Wednesday, July 27: A 70-year-old man was killed riding his motorcycle after he collided with another vehicle trying to turn off of Highway 151 and Alamo Ranch Parkway, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

San Antonio Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Washington Moscoso said the motorcyclist was heading eastbound 151 around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, when he came to the traffic lights at the Westward Loop intersection in front of Casa Blanca. The motorcyclist had a green light but a maroon-colored sedan traveling westbound on 151 tried to turn left at the light and collided with the motorcycle.

Moscoso says the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but still died from his injuries. The 24-year-old driver of the sedan was not injured and stayed at the scene of the crash until police and first responders arrived.

No criminal charges are pending and Moscoso says that it was just a “tragic accident.” All lanes at Highway 151 and Loop 1604 are now open.
