The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.57 per share.
The consulting company posted revenue of $15.42 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $15.45 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $6.88 billion, or $10.71 per share. Revenue was reported as $61.59 billion.
For the current quarter ending in November, Accenture said it expects revenue in the range of $15.2 billion to $15.75 billion. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $16.22 billion.
The company expects full-year earnings to be $11.09 to $11.41 per share.
Accenture shares have decreased 36% since the beginning of the year, while the S&P’s 500 index has dropped 20%. The stock has fallen 20% in the last 12 months.
