SAN ANTONIO (June 13, 2022) — With voter approval of the 2022-2027 Bond Program on Saturday, May 7, 2022 the City of San Antonio has kicked off the bond program with the release of three Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) for engineering and design services. The City is seeking design consultants for projects in the fields of civil engineering, architecture, and landscape architecture. This is the first milestone to deliver a record $1.2 billion in infrastructure and resiliency projects in the community.
“We’re ready to get to work,” said San Antonio City Manager Erik Walsh. “The 2022-2027 Bond Program invests in projects that will create great public spaces and facilities, complete streets, increase multi-modal access and establish new connections between our linear creek way system, roadway networks and urban and neighborhood areas where our families live, work and play.”
As part of the 2022-2027 Bond Program, affordable housing has been included for the first time. Every five years, the City, working with the community, recommends the issuance of a bond program consistent with the City’s long-term financial plan. On previous bond programs, the City was successful in hiring local, small, minority and women-owned businesses (S/M/WBEs) as part of the bond programs and project delivery.
