SAN ANTONIO — A family is now going into the Memorial Day weekend without their loved one after a deadly crash on the south side. The San Antonio Police Department said an elderly woman was crossing the street with a teenager when she was hit and killed by a car.

Bexar County authorities say a young man and woman have been arrested in connection with what investigators say was an apparent cycle of abuse to the woman’s 3-year-old son that resulted in the child getting surgery.
