Firefighters respond to house fire on Southwest Side

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters are working to put out a fire at a Southwest Side home early Thursday morning.

The fire was called in just after 4:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Elmo Avenue, not far from South Zarzamora Street and West Malone.

At this time, not much is known about the fire. The fire appears to involve a house and a trailer that was parked next to it.

KSAT 12 spoke to some residents who say they were asleep in the trailer when they woke to notice the fire in the house. They managed to get out safely.

A woman who lives inside the home says she has not been home since about 5 p.m. yesterday evening. It’s unclear exactly what sparked the fire. They do however, think it may have started in the living room.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department website, as many as 13 units answered the call.

KSAT 12 has a crew at the scene.

This is a developing story. Stay with KSAT12 both online and on-air for more information.
