Hill Country resort formerly owned by country star George Strait caught fire again last night

A fire at the Tapatio Springs resort in Boerne caused the “total loss” of a spa building. It was not immediately clear how the fire would affect the operations at the resort.

On Monday night, Kendall County Emergency Management shared photos on social media of fire crews battling a structure fire at Tapatio Springs in Boerne.

Kendall County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeffery Fincke tells MySA the fire began at 9 p.m. at the spa located between the adult and kid pools on the property. Fire crews at the scene were able to get the blaze under control by 2 a.m., he says.

“[The cause of the fire] is still under investigation,” Fincke, who is also the fire marshall, says. “It may have been some workers on the roof earlier in the afternoon, but we are not sure.”

He says there was a report that some A/C work on the roof was done during the afternoon, but officials have yet to talk to those individuals. No one was injured during the fire.

This is the second structure fire at Tapatio Springs, the first blaze erupted back in 2017, according to a MySA report. There was a fire in the attic and the kitchen, which destroyed the clubhouse. The damage caused the resort to be close temporarily for repairs.

Fincke said the Tuesday morning blaze was unrelated to the previous fire’s cause.
