Two housekeepers found two people dead inside an East Side hotel on Tuesday morning, according to San Antonio police.

Police Chief William McManus said the housekeepers walked into a second-floor room of the Travelodge by Wyndham in the 3800 block of North PanAm Expressway to find two bodies shot to death.

The two individuals appeared to be females in their late teens to early 20s, McManus said. Officials have not determined their identities.

McManus said his investigators don’t know much about what happened in the room. McManus said police don’t know if it was a double shooting or a murder-suicide.

“This is really early in the investigation,” McManus said. “We hope to have additional information later on, but we don’t know much beyond this right now.”

Investigators are canvassing the area, searching for witnesses or video cameras that could assist them with the case.
