Lackland AFB issues active shooter lockdown alert for off-base gunshots

An active shooter alert was issued for Lackland Air Force Base on Tuesday, June 14, at 10 a.m. 

According to the military base, the alert was prompted by gunshots heard off base near Joint Base San Antonio. 

According to base personnel who shared tweets surrounding the situation, text alerts were issued telling employees to lockdown.
