The Bed Bath & Beyond in Port Arthur will be among the latest locations to close its doors, as the retail chain’s gradually downsizing the number of stores nationwide.

The Port Arthur store, which is located in Central Mall, said they did not know when the store would be closing. However, the corporate office in New Jersey said the location will last through the beginning of the New Year, officially closing on Jan. 29.

Bed Bath & Beyond announced in late August that it’ll close about 150 locations, including the Port Arthur store. The company’s Wichita Falls location will also close.

In 2018, there were 1,552 Bed Bath & Beyond locations worldwide, according to Statista. As of February 2022, the company was down to 953.
