A man in his late 40s or early 50s has died after he was reportedly struck by two vehicles on Monday evening, February 27, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
The driver of a white sedan was traveling northbound on S. General McMullen Drive when they struck a man crossing the street from the west side to the east side before fleeing the scene, according to the police. A dark colored black Chrysler 200 that was driving behind the white sedan was unable to stop before running over the injured man laying in the road.
The driver of the Chrysler stopped to render aid until emergency medical services arrived. They worked on the man but he was later pronounced dead on arrival, according to the police.
Along with persons with emergency medical services, officers with the San Antonio Police Department and personnel from the San Antonio Fire Department responded to the fatal crash, which was reported around 9 p.m.
The traffic investigation detail with the SAPD has opened an investigation into the incident, which the driver of the dark Chrysler is cooperating with. The man has yet to be positively identified, nor has the next of kin been informed of his death. If the driver of the white sedan is found, they will be charged with one count of failure to stop and render aid, which resulted in death, according to the police.
