Thunderstorms rolled into San Antonio and Texas Hill Country late Thursday, March 2 evening, knocking out power for thousands of CPS Energy customers.
According to the company’s latest outage map around 7:58pm, more than 19,000 customers are currently out of power due to 104 separate outages. A tweet from the company’s Twitter account said that crews are “en route to the outages.”
Around 7:15 p.m., CPS Energy Chief Meteorologist Brian Alonzo reported that a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is now in full effect for the Northwest parts of San Antonio. Alonzo added at the time that a line of incoming showers and storms would only continue to get more organized.
The outages come just hours after thousands of Texans across the state experienced large-sized hail after storms ripped through parts of South-Central Texas last night.
