The Houston-based company said it had profit of $2.23 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $1.93 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.42 per share.
The oil and gas producer posted revenue of $1.1 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $812.2 million.
