MuySA: 13 celebrities you might see at a Spurs game this season – mySA

Still, don’t fret! Between famous local faces and A-list celebrities, here are some of the big names that have supported the Spurs in the past and that you’ll hopefully see at the AT&T Center this season.

Matthew McConaughey

Uvalde native Matthew McConaughey has no problem showing off and even embracing his Texas roots, especially as of late. The actor has gotten into the action at Longhorn football games and Austin FC games, so why not a Spurs game? We could see him getting along with the Coyote nicely.

Shawn Michaels

Known to show up at Spurs games in the past, Jose Lothario prodigy and WWE wrestling legend Shawn Michaels has publicly shown his support for the Spurs through the years. Perhaps the more low-key era of the San Antonio team will entice Michaels, who leads a quiet life and lives here in San Antonio, to head to a game or two this season.

Elon Musk

Eccentric billionaire Elon Musk is strongly embracing living in Texas, especially with rumors of his own underground tunnel. Sure, he sticks to his neck of the woods in Austin, but maybe he’ll learn about the love-hate relationship between the 5-1-2 and 2-1-0 and stir the pot by attending a Spurs game. San Antonio Twitter would definitely come through with all the burns and jokes.

Thomas J. Henry

Among San Antonio lawyers, Thomas J. Henry definitely is the flashiest of them all. He loves being at social events and hanging out with celebrities, so he will likely show up at a Spurs game this season. You probably won’t see him standing in line for some nachos, but expect a spotlight on him if he’s hanging out in a box suite with other local A-listers.

Samuel L. Jackson

He loves them when they’re good and calls them out when they’re bad, but actor Samuel L. Jackson is a Spurs fan through and through. We can already imagine him now, yelling encouragement, directions, and complaints in his iconic voice from his front row seat. Hey Samuel L. Jackson, come through.

George Strait

The King of Country may not live in the spotlight, but he stays supporting local teams and ventures. George Strait has expressed his support for the Spurs in the past. Maybe the team’s rebuilding era will encourage him to get fans excited again. Everybody loves a comeback story!

Eva Longoria

Sure, she had a nasty split from former Big 3 legend Tony Parker, but actress Eva Longoria remains a Texas girl through and through. She’s supported the San Antonio team in the past and will likely do so for years to come. Be sure to take a selfie with her!

Joe Rogan

Like Musk, podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan has made Austin his home. While he’s not as vocal about embracing Texas life, maybe he just needed time to get settled in the Lone Star State. Maybe he and Elon will even take a road trip down to San Antonio and stir up a frenzy by going to a Spurs game together. Who knows?!

Becky Hammon

As a former assistant coach for the Spurs, Becky Hammon has a lot of love for the San Antonio team. Though she’s making big waves as a WNBA head coach, consider it a sign of good luck if Hammon is spotted inside the AT&T Center.

Selena Gomez

During the Spurs’ last championship run, actress and singer Selena Gomez proudly repped the team with a jersey and by attending a game. Though it’s unlikely, let’s hope that the Texas native will remember her roots (though she’s from the Dallas area) and show her love for the Spurs once again.

Tommy Lee Jones

A Texas native with a strong Southern drawl, Tommy Lee Jones is obviously a Spurs fan. It’s been a minute since the Academy Award-winning actor has suited up in support of the Spurs, but maybe starring in Man of the House, which directly references the UT Longhorns’ cheerleaders, will remind him that he belongs in the sports world.

Michelle Beadle

University of Texas at San Antonio alumna turned sports reporter Michelle Beadle bleeds silver and black, especially since she’s part of the Spurs broadcast team. During slower parts of the game, take a moment to look out for Beadle. She’s remained loyal to her hometown team through the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Ricardo Chavira

Raised in the Alamo City and a graduate of the now LEE High School, Ricardo Chavira is San Antonio as heck. It helps that he’s the former on-screen husband of Eva Longoria on Desperate Housewives and played Abraham Quintanilla on Netflix’s Selena: The Series. The actor has cheered on the Spurs in the past, so maybe his time in the 2-1-0 will include sitting courtside at the AT&T Center.
