Police: Crash involving stolen horses kills one minor, injures two others

One juvenile on a horse was killed and two others hospitalized after a car crash in North Texas early on Tuesday morning, March 14.

The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. at Great Trinity Forest and Julius Schepps Freeway in Dallas and involved three juveniles riding horses and one car. Police did not share details on the crash, but said that one of the riders, who remains unidentified, was killed at the scene of the crash. The two others were transported to local hospitals in stable condition.

Police said an investigation revealed the horses were stolen. Two of the horses died, one at the scene and one later euthanized by a veterinarian, and the third was injured but is expected to survive, officials said. 

The driver remained at the scene of the crash and police said no charges are expected. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
