KVUE — The San Antonio-New Braunfels area saw a growth of 5.8 percent for median salary wage from 2019 to 2021, according to the ADP Research Institute.

The increase makes San Antonio-New Braunfels the No. 2 metro area in Texas for salary growth rates, behind the Austin-Round Rock metro area, which sits at No. 1 with a 9.4 percent growth in the same period. Following San Antonio are Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land (5.07 percent) and Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington (4.55 percent).

By comparison, the national average was 6.77 percent.

Breaking down the San Antonio-New Braunfels numbers further, the report said the area experienced a low-end salary growth of 13.54 percent between 2019 and 2021 and a top 5 percent earner salary growth of 0.53 percent during the time period. The median monthly earning in the area in 2021, according to ADP, was $6,212; the low-end median monthly earning was $1,835, while the top 5 percent median monthly earning was $20,601.
