Teenage girl hit by bullets fired into car near Northwest Side highway – KSAT San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are working to find the person who fired more than a dozen shots at a car on the city’s Northwest Side, critically wounding a teenage girl who was in the back seat.

The shooting happened after 2 a.m. Thursday on Woodstone Drive near Interstate 10.

Police say the girl who was wounded was one of three teens in the back seat of a car being driven by a man.

They told officers they were driving along Woodstone toward I-10 when another car pulled in front of them and stopped.

The witnesses said initially, they thought the beige 4-door vehicle might contain someone who they know.

However, they said, someone suddenly got out of the car and started shooting at them.

Crime scene investigators later marked off more than a dozen shell casings scattered across one section of a parking lot.

Police say after the shooting, the man driving the car containing the wounded teen made his way to the parking lot of a nearby furniture store.

They say he then put all three teens out of the car and drove off.

The teens were able to call for help. When police found them, they say one girl was in critical condition, suffering from a gunshot wound in her chest.

She was rushed to a hospital.

Police searched for the shooter but did not make any arrests right away.
