A Houston man remains in jail on Saturday, March 11, on charges that he kidnapped a woman and held her captive in his mobile home for four years. Abraham Bravo Segura, 42, was arrested and charged with one count of kidnapping.

The 32-year-old woman was allegedly kept captive in a mobile home and that all exits out of the trailer were blocked, including burglar bars on the windows, ABC News reports. The woman reportedly was able to call for help from a phone inside the home while he was at work, and told police that Segura held her at gunpoint, threatened to kill her and that she could not escape. Police found three guns in plainview inside of the mobile home, KTRK says.

ABC News reports that Segura “repeatedly” defended himself to the court that the “story is one-sided.” A hearing officer reportedly told Segura that “we’re not going to argue the facts of the case today.” The 42-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned in a Harris County court on Monday, March 13.

A friend of Segura’s spoke with KTRK on Friday, March 10, calling the charges “not fair,” and that his friend is innocent. Auseilsaul Contreras said Segura and the woman have been in a relationship “for years,” and that he saw them together “a month or two ago.”

“I saw the lady a month and a half ago, and when I saw her, everything was OK,” Contreras said to KTRK.

Neighbors told the Houston news station that “they would only see the man going to work and rarely saw the woman in question.”

Segura’s bond was set at $150,000, would be required to be under house arrest and have no contact with the woman or her family.
