Tropical Smoothie Cafe opens in San Antonio’s Medical Center – mySA

There’s a new cafe destination in San Antonio’s Medical Center area. Tropical Smoothie Cafe, already operating in three other places in the city, is opening a fourth spot next weekend on Medical Drive.

A grand opening celebration for the new branch of the national chain will take place on September 30. Free smoothies for a year will be given out to the first 30 people who enter the queue at 7 a.m.. Discounts on food offerings will be given out to all guests throughout the weekend, with $3.99 smoothies and $3.99 flatbread sandwiches on October 1 and a $6.99 combo deal on October 2.

Guests who download the Tropical Smoothie Cafe app will also receive a free smoothie with their first order.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is known for house made smoothies and fast casual healthy conscious bites. Menu items include offerings from salads, flat bread sandwiches (like the chicken pesto flatbread), wraps (including the baja chicken wrap), and quesadillas. Their smoothies are made with fresh fruits and vegetables and “mood-boosting ingredients” like ginger and whole grain oats.

The new location, as well as two other San Antonio locations of the chain, are owned by Pam Ozowalu. The opening marks the fourth branch to open in San Antonio. There are also locations in New Braunfels and Shertz. The chain began in 1997 in the Florida panhandle, and now operates over 1,000 locations across the country.

Find it: 4331 Medical Drive, Suite 205, San Antonio, TX 78229
