San Antonio police responded to reports of shots fired at the Union Pine apartments at the 1700 block of Pleasanton Road early Friday morning, July 29, only to find two men dead at the scene.

A sergeant with the San Antonio Police Department said that the two men were found at one of the apartment buildings at the top of the stairs and the bottom of the stairs respectively. Both men were found with 18 to 25 gunshot wounds to their bodies. The ages of the men were not disclosed and they have yet to be identified.

There were no witnesses to the shooting, but some residents told police that they witnessed two men flee the scene after the gunshots. Homicide is investigating the case and looking for the two suspects that ran.  No identifying information was released about the men seen leaving the scene.

MySA reached out to SAPD for information.

This is another incident in a recent string violent shootings in San Antonio. Last week a woman and a 2-year-old were shot at a home on the Eastside while gathering after attending a funeral. The woman and child were transported with gunshot wounds to the leg. The shots allegedly came from a black Jeep that fired into the crowd.

Earlier this week, two boys, Edgar Menchaca, 14 and Edgar Emiliano Rojas, 15, were found shot and killed inside a vehicle on the southeast side of downtown, KSAT reported
