Woman killed in North Side house fire, SAFD says

SAN ANTONIO – A woman is dead following an early-morning house fire on the city’s North Side, the San Antonio Fire Department said Tuesday.

The fire was called in just after 4 a.m. at a home in the 100 Rilla Vista Drive, not far from San Pedro Avenue and Jackson Keller Road.

Firefighters said when they arrived, they found flames and smoke both showing at the single-story home.

A neighbor said she was heading to work when she first noticed the fire and called 911. Firefighters rushed inside to save the woman, but were unable to do so.

The cause of the fire is not currently known. It is also unclear if anyone else was inside at the time of the fire.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department website, as many as 14 units answered the call.

The name of the woman killed has not been released.
