BASTROP COUNTY, Texas — One adult and one child are dead following a bus rollover in Bastrop County Friday afternoon.
Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) said at around 2:50 p.m. that its medics are assisting with the rollover on West State Highway 21, near Caldwell Road and just southeast of Highway 130, in Bastrop County. That site is near the Mustang Ridge area.
Preliminary information indicates the crash was between a school bus and a concrete truck.
ATCEMS initially said more than 40 patients were involved, and KVUE has confirmed that 32 people have been transported from the scene to a hospital. Those patients include both adults and children.
KVUE has confirmed that some of the patients are not seriously injured, but early reports from law enforcement are that at least two people have died, one adult and one child.
The Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management also has crews on the way to respond to the collision. ATCEMS helicopters and ambulances are inbound.
