
One person was found dead at the scene and another was taken to a hospital after being pulled from a burning car by nearby civilians, SAFD says.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Fire Department has confirmed one person has died after a major crash of US Highway 281 North.
Around 6:50 p.m., SAFD responded to the southbound lanes after receiving reports of a vehicle fire and rollover accident. On their way, officials said they received calls that their was “an extrication being done by civilians on scene.”
Upon arrival, preliminary information from SAFD suggests both vehicles involved were engulfed in flames and one person was found dead at the scene while another was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries after being pulled from the burning car by nearby civilians.
