Authorities are investigating after gunfire at the store, which has been closed until further notice.
SEGUIN, Texas — Seguin law enforcement say they are investigating a fatal shooting in the parking lot of a Walmart located at 550 S. Highway 123 Bypass, prompting the store to close Thursday evening amid a heavy police presence.
The City of Seguin has confirmed one person is dead and another is in custody following the shooting.
Authorities said officers were on scene around 5:20 p.m. as they investigate. Few details have been released, and authorities have not yet confirmed information about possible injuries or suspects.
Residents are being asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes to allow first responders to work safely while the scene remains active.
“Additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available,” Seguin police said in a Facebook post. “We appreciate your patient and cooperation.”
