San Marcos police are investigating a number of weekend shootings, one of which was fatal.
The first shooting happened late Saturday night, that’s the shooting where two people are on the run, but police say they know the identities of both men. Two other unrelated shootings happened Sunday about 20 minutes apart.
On Saturday, San Marcos police say three people were shot, one died at the hospital. The shooting happened at 10:00 p.m. near Kissing Alley on Hopkins Street, across from the historic Hays County Courthouse.
Police are still looking for two men, one wearing a black hoodie with white letters, dark pants, and dark shoes. The other man was wearing a two-tone jacket, black over light gray, dark pants, and a beanie. The men left in a car, that police have found and are working to identify the shooters.
Sunday at around 1:25 a.m., San Marcos police say they received a lot of calls about a fight turned shooting at an apartment complex near Travis Elementary School. When officers got there, they found shell casings, and a large amount of blood. The person who was shot was taken to the hospital. Police are still looking for this suspect,
The third shooting also happened on Sunday around 1:15 a.m. Police heard gunshots on north LBJ Drive. They chased and did arrest one man and say they aren’t sure if anyone was hurt. But they do say this shooting is unrelated to the others.
Monday afternoon we are expecting a press conference from San Marcos police about the latest on these shootings.
