1 dead, suspect on run after shooting on San Antonio’s near west side

SAPD officers at the scene said they know the suspect they are trying to track down in this case.

SAN ANTONIO — One man is dead, and another is on the run after a shooting on San Antonio’s near west side.

The San Antonio Police Department responded to the 200 block of Torreon Street at about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday after a shooting was reported.

An SAPD spokesman said a 33-year-old man was found on the ground with a gunshot wound and was dead at the scene.

The suspect is a 20-year-old Hispanic male, and police said they know the identity of the person they are seeking to arrest in the case. They say he fled the scene.

Officers took three people into custody at the scene as they were looking for the suspect.

The SAPD homicide unit was continuing its investigation at the scene.
