10-year-old girl struck by gunfire in northwest-side road rage shooting; person detained

SAPD said a child riding in the backseat of a car was struck and rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio are questioning a 41-year-old person in connection to a Friday morning road rage incident that left a young child with gunshot injuries. 

The incident sparked a heavy police presence in the 2500 block of Bandera Road around 7:30 a.m. as police responded to reports of a shooting involving a child. San Antonio police officials at the scene confirmed a 10-year-old girl was struck in the abdomen and hospitalized in critical condition. 

Police at the time said they were looking for a male suspect. Now, as of Friday afternoon, officials said they plan to file charges against the individual being questioned.
