The non-profit supports the families of fallen officers, and first responders injured in the line of duty.
SAN ANTONIO — SAN ANTONIO, TX—A horrific scene happening this week: seven San Antonio police officers were shot by a gunman on a violent rampage.
The department said all seven of the officers are expected to make a full recovery.
Stepping in to help the officers and their families during their recovery is the 100 Club of San Antonio.
The non-profit supports families of fallen officers and officers injured in the line of duty.
“If we lose a first responder in Bexar County, we’ll provide immediate financial assistance to the family, and any kids they have, we’ll give them $50,000 for college when they’re ready to go,” said Bart Vasquez, Executive Director of the 100 Club San Antonio. “But one of the other programs we do is our line of duty injury. So, like these seven officers that were injured in the line of duty, we’ll go in and provide financial assistance.”
Vasquez said support of the 100 Club also sends a message that the community cares and stands behind our first responders.
“While the community can’t reach out to the individual officer, or doesn’t know the individual officer. We do,” said Vasquez. “We have a great partnership with the police department in the fire department. They let us know the officers that were injured and we reached out and really emphasize the point that this is from a grateful community for the job you did out there that night.”
And, now the 100 Club of San Antonio needs your help raising funds that support their mission.
The non-profit is hosting one of their biggest fundraisers this Friday, Boots & Badges Casino Night.

This is the 10th year the 100 Club has hosted the event, that includes live music, a silent auction, casino games and more!
Boots & Badges Casino Night is happening January 31 at The Rock at La Cantera, doors open at 6pm.
