SAN ANTONIO — An 11-year-old girl from San Antonio is preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on one of the world’s most renowned stages.
Layla Janae McWilliams has been selected to participate in the Honors Performance Series in New York City, a national program that recognizes and brings together top young performers from across the country.
As part of the program, Layla will spend a week training with world-class musicians, honing her skills alongside other accomplished students. The experience will culminate in a live performance at Carnegie Hall.
Her family said Layla is both excited and focused as she prepares for the upcoming trip, dedicating time to practice and make the most of the opportunity.
