SAN ANTONIO – An 11-year-old boy who was playing with a gun accidentally shot himself in the head at a West Side apartment, according to San Antonio police.
SAPD said the shooting happened just after 9 a.m. Friday at The Terraces at Haven for Hope in the 700 block of N. San Marcos, near Ruiz Street.
He was taken to the hospital and his condition is unknown.
Officers said the child was playing with his friends and found the gun. His parents were home at the time, police said.
The complex is privately owned and not part of Haven for Hope.
