
A 12-year-old was life-flighted, and three suspects were taken into custody after a shooting along Susquehanna Avenue in Olyphant on Sunday night.
OLYPHANT, Pa. — Three juveniles were taken into custody after a 12-year-old boy was shot in Lackawanna County Sunday night.
Officers responded to the intersection of Susquehanna Avenue and Nestor Chylak Drive in Olyphant around 8:30 p.m.
Olyphant Police, Pennsylvania State Police, and other local police departments shut down Susquehanna Avenue for hours and lined the area with police tape while officers investigated.
According to the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office, the alleged shooter is 14 years old. He is facing attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related charges.
District Attorney Brian Gallagher says he intends to file a petition to transfer the teen to adult court.
The 12-year-old victim remains in the hospital in critical condition.
