
A 15-year-old faces charges after another 15-year-old was fatally shot on Friday in northeast Bexar County.
SAN ANTONIO — A 15-year-old faces a tampering with evidence charge after a shooting left another teen dead on the northeast side Friday morning, according to the Bexar County officials, but investigators are still looking into his role in the murder.
Sheriff Javier Salazar said deputies received a call just before 11 a.m. about an injured boy who was found in the street at Woodlake Parkway and Lakeview Drive. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Salazar said the teenage victim was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries. He has not been identified at this time. Both the victim and detained teen were previously identified by the sheriff as being 14 years old.
A handgun was recovered at the scene and is believed to be the murder weapon, according to BCSO.
Teen makes court appearance
The detained 15-year-old is no stranger to court proceedings. According to probation officers, he’s had 12 prior appearance in juvenile court.
