SAN ANTONIO — A 15-year-old is facing charges after a shooting left another teen dead on the northeast side Friday morning, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Javier Salazar said deputies received a call just before 11 a.m. about an injured boy who was found in the street at Woodlake Parkway and Lakeview Drive. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Salazar said the teenage victim was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries. He has not been identified at this time.

A handgun was recovered at the scene and is believed to be the murder weapon, according to BCSO.

The 15-year-old is currently a person of interest and faces a tampering with evidence charge.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what lead up to the shooting.

At this point, we do not have a motive,” Salazar said on Friday.

This is a developing story.
