SAN ANTONIO — An 18-wheeler crashed near Loop 1604 after hydroplaning across some of the main lanes early Friday morning, according to San Antonio Police.
The crash occurred at Loop 1604 eastbound near Green Mountain Road Friday.
Officials say the driver hit the inner wall on the turn of Loop 1604, hydroplaned across the main lanes of the highway then crashed into a grassy hill onto the access road. The cab also caught on fire but the driver was able to get out safely.
The highway was shutdown for a couple of hours this morning and the main lanes are back open.
