19-year-old shot after drive-by shooting on south-side, SAPD says

San Antonio police are investigating after a 19-year-old man was shot while driving near South Flores early Wednesday.

SAN ANTONIO — A 19-year-old man was shot in an apparent drive-by attack near South Flores Street early Wednesday morning, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The shooting happened around 12:26 a.m. near 200 West Malone, not far from South Flores Street.

A SAPD detective said the victim was driving along South Flores when another vehicle pulled up beside him and the suspect opened fire, striking the driver’s side door.

The 19-year-old was hit in the lower back, police said.

Authorities say the victim managed to drive away and pulled into a nearby school parking lot, where he called for help.

He was taken to University Hospital in stable condition, according to SAPD.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and are searching for the vehicle involved.

No arrests have been made.
