2 arrested, 1 at large after armored truck robbery on Northeast Side

SAN ANTONIO – Two people were arrested, and one is on the run after they robbed an armored truck at gunpoint Tuesday on the Northeast Side, according to San Antonio police.

The robbery happened around 1 p.m. in the 5100 block of Walzem Road while a Brink’s armored truck was parked at an ATM, police said.

After the robbery, SAPD’s Raven Helicopter came across the trio’s vehicle on Interstate 35 and followed it into a neighborhood in the 3800 block of Morning Drive in Schertz.

Police arrested a woman and a man who tried to flee on foot, but another man is still at large. Police also recovered the stolen money.

Two schools near the neighborhood were temporarily placed on lockdown as authorities searched for the trio.

A SWAT team also responded to the scene to help with crowd control in the neighborhood, police said.
