2 detained, weapons and drugs recovered after officers stop stolen vehicle in west San Antonio, police say

SAPD said two other people inside the stolen vehicle ran from the scene on foot and were not located.

SAN ANTONIO — Two people were taken into custody Tuesday morning after officers located a stolen vehicle on the city’s west side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said officers were responding to a call around 10:30 a.m. when a license plate reader alerted them to a stolen vehicle near South Zarzamora Street and Tampico Street.

Investigators said there were at least four occupants inside the vehicle. Two people ran from the scene on foot and were not located, while two others also fled but were captured by officers, according to SAPD.

Police said officers recovered weapons, narcotics and the stolen vehicle. The suspects could face charges related to the weapons and the stolen vehicle, officials said.

Investigators were still processing the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.
