SAN ANTONIO — At 95 and 103-years-old, two women from New Braunfels are proving it’s never too late to wish big.
On Wednesday, Evelyn Sanford and Alice, residents of Brookdale New Braunfels, fulfilled lifelong dreams at Morgan’s Wonderland—a San Antonio theme park designed with full accessibility in mind.
“Well, I’m 95-years-old. I didn’t think I should try skydiving, so I opted for the merry-go-round,” Evelyn joked.
The outing wasn’t just about fun, it was a celebration of age, ability and the power of community.
Morgan’s Wonderland opened its gates to make the experience extra special, hosting lunch, rides and a few surprises.
“One of her dreams was to go on a carousel in her wheelchair. The other one turned 103-years-old in February. And coming to a theme park was one of her dreams as well,” said Ruben Dietz, executive director of Brookdale New Braunfels.
The visit was made possible after park staff received a birthday request for Evelyn.
“We received an email that Miss Evelyn was turning 95. We just turned that 95-year-old wish into a big party for her,” said Cat Lorenzo, director of operations at Morgan’s Wonderland.
For Evelyn, who had been hearing about the park for years, the experience exceeded expectations.
“I’ve been wanting to come and it’s a great place,” she said.
Morgan’s Wonderland continues to champion its mission of inclusion, welcoming guests of all ages and all abilities.
It’s a powerful reminder that some dreams don’t fade—they just wait for the right moment!
