20-year-old arrested for sexual assault, trafficking after luring victims through Snapchat, officials say

Authorities say the suspect would message victims through Snapchat and convince them to meet him in person, where he would allegedly sexually assault them.

HAYS COUNTY, Texas — A 20-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into claims that he sexually assaulted victims after messaging them via Snapchat.

On Dec. 12, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) received a referral from Child Protective Services (CPS) in regards to a child who alleged a man sexually assaulted them in Kyle, Texas.

Detectives opened up an investigation that reportedly produced enough evidence to issue an arrest warrant for Keshawn Kyle French-Burton on sexual assault of a child and trafficking of persons charges. French-Burton was also reportedly arrested by Austin police for three counts of sexual assault of a child.

Throughout the course of HCSO’s investigation, detectives learned that French-Burton would message victims through Snapchat and convince them to meet him in person, where he would allegedly sexually assault them.

This is an ongoing investigation and more charges could be filed.
