20-year-old woman charged in Sunday’s fatal pedestrian crash, out on bond

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Update: Nadine Tijerina’s bond amount was set at $200,000. She bonded out on Saturday, Dec. 28. 

Early Sunday morning, CCPD was called to the intersection of Ayers and McArdle where officers found a victim of a pedestrian accident with major injuries. Medics transported the man to a local hospital where he later died.

Just before 1:30 a.m., officers determined the 20-year-old driver, Nadine Tijerina, displayed signs of intoxication.

During their investigation officers were able to determine that the driver was traveling down the 4800 block of Ayers Street and struck the pedestrian, who was not walking on a crosswalk.

Tijerina was arrested for intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and additionally charged with possession of marijuana after officers located marijuana inside of her vehicle.

After Tijerina was medically cleared at a local hospital, she was transported to the city detention center for booking.
