BEAUMONT, Texas — Two people were killed and two others were injured Saturday morning after a fiery two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 North over Harrison Avenue, according to Beaumont police.
Beaumont police say both vehicles erupted into flames upon impact. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were taken to a hospital, there condition is not yet known.
One arrest has since been made in connection with the crash.
Jesus Medina, 29, was booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility at 1:19 p.m. Saturday on two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
Records indicate Medina was arrested by Beaumont police.
Medina’s bond was set at $200,000 total with $100,000 for each intoxication manslaughter charge. If Medina is able to make bond, he must use an ignition interlock device when he drives.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details have been released.
