23-year-old man arrested, charged with murder in May Fort Worth shooting

Fort Worth police arrest a 23-year-old man for the fatal shooting of Anthony Michael Reyes in May.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a shooting that left a man dead outside a business on May 10, 2025. 

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. that morning to the 4400 block of Cole Street following a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male, later identified as Anthony Michael Reyes, 35, with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, police said.

Investigators believe Reyes was shot while outside of a business at that location. 

On Aug. 2, Joseph Andrew Diaz, 23, was arrested and booked into the Fort Worth City Jail on a murder charge for his connection in the deadly shooting, according to a report from The Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
