
A man is in critical condition after being hit by a dark SUV in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 90 on San Antonio’s west side, police said.
SAN ANTONIO — A 25-year-old man is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday morning on the city’s west side, according to San Antonio police.
Officers were called to the 7100 block of U.S. Highway 90 West around 10:19 a.m. for what was reported as a major accident.
When officers arrived, they found the man lying on the access road. Police said he had been crossing the roadway in an area where pedestrians are not allowed when he was struck by a vehicle.
Witnesses told investigators the suspect was driving a dark-colored SUV that fled the scene after hitting the man.
The victim suffered severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. San Antonio Fire Department officials confirmed one patient was taken to the hospital as a priority-one trauma at around 10:34 a.m. near Highway 90 and Westoak Road.
The driver has not yet been located, and the investigation remains active. Charges are pending.
