3 arrested following investigation into vehicle thefts at Stone Oak daycare, SAPD says

Police said they were investigating a string of similar thefts involving multiple suspects who targeted drivers who briefly left their vehicles running at a daycare.

SAN ANTONIO — Three people were arrested Monday after investigators linked them to a series of vehicle thefts targeting individuals who briefly left their cars running outside a Stone Oak daycare, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said a vehicle was stolen around 8:10 a.m. on Monday outside a daycare at 18858 Stone Oak Parkway.

According to SAPD, officers had been investigating a string of similar thefts involving multiple suspects who targeted drivers who briefly left their vehicles running at the daycare.

During the investigation, police said a suspect arrived at the location and stole a vehicle that had been left running.

Investigators later tracked the suspects and the stolen vehicles to a specific residence, SAPD said.

San Antonio police said officers then called several suspects out of the home and detained them without incident.

Authorities arrested three suspects identified as Ashton Walker White, 25; Stephanie Alvarado, 41; and Rodolfo Martinez, 44.

The investigation remains ongoing.

This is a developing story.
