BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — Three horses were rescued by the Blount County Fire Protection District on Saturday after it received calls of the animals stuck deep inside some mud. According to the district, the horses were unable to free themselves.
“This was a challenging rescue due to the thick mud and continuing rain, but thanks to our team’s expertise in rope rescue techniques, combined with the use of heavy equipment provided by the land owner, we were able to successfully extract all three horses from the mud,” the group said in a post on Facebook.
All three of the horses are safe and sound, according to the district. The group also said it was proud of the team’s quick thinking and resourceful actions, saying they are always ready to respond to any emergency, whether it involves humans or animals.
