3 killed, multiple injured in Blanco County crash, officials say

About six people were critically injured when emergency crews first arrived.

SAN ANTONIO — Multiple people were sent to the hospital and three were killed in a three-vehicle crash in Blanco County Wednesday afternoon, according to a post by officials. 

Emergency crews were called to HWY 281 at Ranch Road 1323 for a major vehicle accident around 12 p.m.

Crews discovered a three-vehicle crash with about six critically injured people, including several pin-in’s. The call was upgraded to a Mass Casualty Alarm, officials said.  

According to officials, over 45 safety units responded to the scene including four ambulances, four helicopters and multiple command units. 

Two people were transported by helicopter to a regional trauma center, one patient was taken by ambulance to a regional trauma center and three people – two adults and a “pediatric” patient were pronounced dead at the scene after extensive life-saving measures were conducted, officials said. 

The crash is currently under investigation by the Texas DPS Highway Patrol.
