SAN ANTONIO — Deputies are investigating an armored truck robbery Wednesday afternoon on the northeast side of San Antonio.

The robbery happened around lunchtime at the Woodlake shopping center in the 700 block of FM 78.

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says an employee with Loomis Armored Services was stocking the ATM outside Bank of America when three masked suspects approached and demanded money. The employee complied and the suspects began removing items from the machine. At some point, one of the suspects took a weapon off the employee, who was armed as a matter of standard procedure.

The three men took off but deputies did later recover what they believed to be getaway car, a silver sedan, a few blocks away. They also believe they recovered the weapon stolen from the employee.

The suspects have not yet been caught. If you know anything about this crime, you are urged to call BCSO at 210-335-6000.
